Willem grew up in an entrepreneurial family in Voorthuizen. After studying at the HEAO in Arnhem and compulsory military service at the Dutch Royal Military Constabulary he worked for Lekkerland and Kees Becker Logistiek, learning how warehousing, contract logistics and transportation work in practice.
The dynamism of variety inspires him and means he loves juggling lots of balls at the same time. As well as all the energy he puts into his work he enjoys cycling and running and all sorts of social activities, while always ensuring a proper balance between his family life and his work.
Willem is a highly experienced supply chain professional with over 25 years’ experience in the field. Whether it’s inventory management, greenfield and brownfield projects, WMS applications or tenders, he knows all the ins and outs. He became a self-employed contractor in 2000 and, having worked with UC Group on various projects over an 8-year period, has been managing UC’s engineering team since November 2023. His strengths lie in combining thinking (strategy and analysis) and doing (implementing and achieving joint objectives, ideally as part of a team).
